TechStyle NYC: A multifaceted and stylish experience

Towards the end of NYFW, I was invited to TechStyle NYC, a one-day experience with brands in the tech, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle sectors, which took place at Bennett Media Studio. There were a number of great brands showcasing their products to influencers, editors, and bloggers. Take a look at some of the highlights below!

Filthy Haanz was on hand to show if its unique, vibrant and fashionable pieces. The brand has a black strapless dress with a green printed design that I absolutely love! JEMMA makes luxurious work bags that perfectly transition from day to night. They have multiple compartments and my favorite style is Emma! ic! Berlin makes a large assortment of screw-less fashion eyeglasses and sunglasses that are fun, comfortable, and innovative. My favorite style is Luisa and I wear this pair of sunglasses all the time! Avivi creates natural body products that hydrate, rejuvenate, and soften your skin with the use of Avocado Oil. I’m a fan of the brand’s Happiness Body Oil which has such a pleasant scent! Danielle Fosberry designs fashionable pieces that are monochromatic, artistic, and tech forward. I love the coat she designed with cutout styles on the sleeve and a gold ring near the waist. Lifestyle Therapy makes products that speak to the mind,  body, and spirt in a positive way based on your mood and favorite scent. I love the Chill fragrance which has notes of calming rose, fresh citrus, heliotrope, and vanilla! Glass Handbag designs bags that light up to help you find items that fell at the bottom such as your keys or mascara. The Jewel shoulder bag in solid gold is a stunner and perfect for an exciting evening on the town!

Other brands at the event included VanDerWaals, Suuchi, Gravy New York, Neo Nail Tech, Honest Hazel, RestoPresto, Kali, Hercules Vitamins, and nicepipes. The team at Caravan Stylist Studio provided hair and makeup touch-ups for guests. It was such an entertaining and informative event!

Adrienne Landau F16: A creative twist on fur styles

During NYFW, I was invited to Adrienne Landau’s Fall 2016 collection presentation that was held at a pop-up space in Midtown Manhattan. Her collection featured an all new unisex accessories line that complemented her men’s and women’s ready to wear lines. Fur was the prominent fabric in the collection but leather, cashmere, and sheer fabrics were used as well. I loved the color palette which ranged from beige, orange, black, red, cream, to mixed prints. The looks, inspired by NYC streetwear, were vibrant, innovative, alluring, and trendy chic.

I enjoyed all of the looks, but my favorites included: a gray fur poncho over a black tiered dress, a cream coat over a black top and black sequin skirt, a mixed fur jacket over a black mini dress, a black fur bomber jacket over silver crop top and black shorts, a black fur jacket over a silver bandeau and white sheer pants, a red fur jacket with black trims over a black sheer outfit, and a black and white fur coat over black sequin pants. I was impressed by the mixture of fabrics, colors, and style combinations. The fur jackets will definitely be coveted items!

Michael De Paulo FW16: Evening wear with alluring details

I was thrilled to have recently seen Michael De Paulo’s first-ever NYFW presentation at Agora Gallery in Chelsea. His collection was inspired by a modern-day Marie Antoinette motif, and it features a rich color palette of gray, black, white, amber, and red. I love his focus on detailing with geometric beading, feathers, sheerness, and shimmering. Each outfit is a sculpted masterpiece with textured fabrics and stunning silhouettes. Evening wear is definitely one of my favorite fashion styles so I would be ecstatic wearing any of the styles that range from sumptuous gowns to beaded pantsuits and mini dresses!

My favorite looks included a red plunging v gown with a beaded bodice, a gray beaded plunging v pantsuit, a black strapless gown with winged tips, a white plunging v beaded gown with a tulle skirt, and a black gown with a beaded architectural bodice. All of the looks exuded glamour, sexiness, and intrigue. I was blown away by the detail and beauty of this collection!

VEDA FW16 : Casual chic with a hint of intrigue

A few weeks ago, I was invited to view the Fall/Winter 2016 collection NYFW presentation for VEDA at the brand’s showroom in Chinatown. Lyndsey Butler, the Creative Director of VEDA, developed a collection that was inspired by her travels and experiences. Some of her influences include: traditional equestrian tack and attire, Etel Adnan’s abstract landscape paintings, Charlotte Rampling’s suits, Chinatown NYC, rodeo queens, and unique floral design inspired by Ikebana and abstract art. The VEDA collection is casual chic with a number of different fabrics such as silk, wool, suede, cashmere, and cotton. The looks are definitely styles that you can wear every day.

I truly loved the entire collection, though I certainly had my favorite looks. I loved the blue suede jacket paired with a white sweater and white trousers, a red suede jacket paired with a blue top and red suede pants, a light blue asymmetric top paired with black trousers and a black equestrian-style belt, and an olive wool sweater paired with a brown silk skirt. I also liked how all of the looks were paired with booties of different hues such as a vibrant maroon, black, and white. The collection is alluring, stylish, and wearable. I can’t wait until it’s available in stores!

Miracle Skin Transformer Skin Perfecting Trio: 3 easy steps to beautiful skin

I was recently introduced to the Miracle Skin Transformer Skin Perfecting Trio and was impressed with its powerful combination! I’ve been a fan of the Miracle Balm for a while, so I was excited to see what other products Miracle Skin Transformer has developed.  The Skin Perfecting Trio consists of the Miracle Skin Transformer Face Broad Spectrum SPF20, the Miracle Skin Transformer Hydroactive Microderm, and the Triple Active Night Treatment. Each of the products actively rejuvenates your skin.

The Face Broad Spectrum SPF20 hydrates, primes, enhances, mattifies, and protects your skin. It comes in 4 different shades and helps to diminish the appearance of fine lines and discoloration as well as minimize the size of your pores. The Hydroactive Microderm  is infused with the M3 complex, a combination of marine algae extract vitamins and antioxidants, for hydrated, luminous skin. It gently exfoliates your skin to soften fine lines and wrinkles, and leave your skin overall unbelievably softer. I apply it with the Miracle Refining Brush system for further exfoliation and smoothness.  The Triple Active Night Treatment replenishes, reverses, and revitalizes your skin. It reverses daily environmental damage, diminishes dryness, and resurfaces the skin’s texture and tone to deliver ageless, energized skin.

After two weeks of using the Skin Perfecting Trio, I’ve seen noticeable results in the improvement of my skin. It’s not only smoother with smaller pores, but it’s also less red. My skin is pretty sensitive, so normally I would wake up with a couple of highly visible red spots on my face that I’d have to cover up with a lot of foundation and concealer, though now I’m seeing them fade away. All of the products are very gentle and easy to use. It’s great to be able to use fewer products that provide a number of powerful benefits.

The Skin Perfecting Trio will be showcased on HSN tomorrow February 4 and 16. Be sure to tune in and try out this incredible system!

Squelch: Odors be gone with this everyday must-have

I love discovering products that are functional and compact. That’s why I’m so glad that I was introduced to Squelch, a product that perfectly embodies these benefits. Squelch is a natural, scentless odor remover that’s non-toxic and hypoallergenic, and that can be used for a variety of purposes such as removing odors from furniture, sneakers, hair, and vintage clothing. It also gets rid of wine and coffee stains. I like its portable size, and I switch between carrying it in my purse when I’m on the go and in my gym bag when I know I’m going to break a sweat!

Squelch is seriously a miracle worker! I used it on my sneakers after an intense interval workout, and I noticed how the odor went away instantly. I also used it on my gym bag and sports bra and got the same instant results. I wanted to see where else I could use Squelch, so I checked my cosmetics pouch that was smelling strange and sprayed it a few times. I also sprayed my gloves because between the subway, building doors and combination of odors in the city air, it’s hard for them to escape bad odors. After just a few squirts, both of my items no longer smelled bad. Squelch is such a lifesaver removing all kinds of smells, and I take it everywhere! For more information on Squelch, check out www.squelchit.com

Art highlights from this year’s Art Basel in Miami

I recently went to Art Basel in Miami for the first time ever and had an amazing experience! There was a great mix of fashion, lifestyle, and art events. Art Basel Miami Beach, which took place at the Miami Convention Center, was an impressive showcase of art from over 250 galleries worldwide. Strong sales were reported. SCOPE Miami Beach brought together 120 gallery exhibitors from 22 countries to its beach tent off of Ocean Drive. There was an assortment of innovative artwork at the event. New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) Miami Beach at the Fontainbleau Miami Beach had over 80 galleries from around the world showcasing an ecelectic mix of art. Lastly, the inaugural X-Contemporary Art Fair in Wynwood showcased works from over 27 gallery exhibitors from the US, Europe and South America, focusing on collaborations with different artistic arenas such as fashion and the visual arts.

Such an amazing group of art events! Check out my favorite pieces from the three fairs down below.

j.f. lazartigue: A hair care line that reawakens shiny and healthy hair

I just got hooked on a luxurious hair care line called j.f. lazartigue, a French-based brand that offers products for a variety of specific hair types and conditions. Its Normal and Combination product line is perfect for all hair types, combating oily scalps and dry ends at the same time. One of my favorite products is the Antipollution Frequent Use Shampoo, as I work out a lot and need an everyday shampoo. It eliminates polluting articles and detoxifies your hair and scalp. The Marine Shampoo is also great as it enriches your hair with vitamins, proteins, and minerals.

There’s also a Soy Milk Strengthening Line that’s perfect for dry, delicate hair. I love the Soy Milk Strengthening Conditioner that provides hair repair, giving it manageability. It’s rich in Vitamin E and soy oil, leaving your hair with great shine- plus, it has a fantastic smell! I also like using the Soy Milk Strengthening Serum after I’ve blow-dried my hair, as it fortifies my ends. Lastly, I’ve been using the Soy Milk Strengthening Mask once a week for a powerful combination of moisture, repair, and protection. j.f. lazartigue products are available at www.jflazartigue.com and select salons and retail outlets. I’m so glad that I found a hair care line with natural ingredients that leave my hair strong, soft, and lustrous!

Peeled Snacks: An assortment of snacks that deliver on taste and wellness

I recently had the pleasure of trying a couple of products from Peeled Snacks and I’m hooked! Peeled Snacks is all about using natural, sustainable, non-GMO, gluten-free ingredients to produce the tastiest and healthiest snacks. One of the products I tried is called Apple-2-the-core which consists of organic gently-dried apples and nothing else added-not even sugar, oil, or preservatives. It’s a great source of vitamins and fiber plus it’s so tasty!

The other snack that I tried is Peas Please, the brand’s newest product which comes in 3 different flavors: Sea Salt, Garden Herb, and Southwest Spice. It’s the only baked organic pea snack on the market and it provides 4 grams of fiber, 5 grams of protein, and 1 whole veggie per serving. I was really impressed with how crunchy delicious each of the flavor varieties are! Sea Salt has just the right amount of salt, Garden Herb has a perfect savory balance, and Southwest Spice packs in a burst of spicy flavor. Who knew that peas could be so appealing! I’m happy to have found healthy snacks that truly taste great. Both Peas Please and Apple-2-the-core are the perfect on-the-go or in-between meals snacks! They’re available at Amazon.com, peeledsnacks.com, and Whole Foods.

Columbia Sportswear: an expert on durable outerwear

I’m so excited about a great campaign and tagline that Columbia Sportswear recently launched called as “Tested Tough.” It means that all of the brand’s employees and ambassadors have thoroughly tested every product in all types of weather conditions and endorse the product’s benefits. It also represents their passion for the brand’s Pacific Northwest heritage.

To celebrate this new campaign and new products, Columbia Sportswear hosted a media event at Cedar Lake. The brand’s lineup of Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 outwear is impressive and seeing it in person got me hooked on a few products! Models were wearing the apparel and accessories as well as showcasing the products’ technology. One of my favorite pieces is the Heatzone 2000 TurboDown Jacket in Purple. It’s probably one of the warmest puffy jackets that I’ve ever worn. It has OMNI-HEAT technology that removes cold spots and is water-resistant. My favorite piece is the Outdry Ex Diamond Shell in Black. This jacket is waterproof with ultra-breathability so you’re dry and comfortable regardless of what weather conditions occur. I’m impressed with how durable the jacket is and how it fends off water.

The Heatzone 2000 Turbodown Jacket is currently available and the Outdry Ex Diamond Shell will be available in Spring 2016. Be sure to check them out!
