Innovative detailing and originality played a big role at NYFW. From an assortment of fabrics and detailing to unique presentations, there were no dull moments. Here are some of those exceptional collections:
Dennis Basso’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection is inspired by the New York City girl and it’s all about fashion experimentation. Models elegantly graced the runway in shades of eggplant, pink, yellow, and brown. They also wore cashmere, mink, sable, shearling, satin, and wool. My favorite looks include a strapless animal print gown with embellishments, a tweed trench coat with a fox fur collar, a pink cashmere trench coat with a rose gold belt, an eggplant satin strapless gown, and a black velvet off the shoulder gown worn by supermodel Carol Alt. These looks were certainly powerful and uninhibiting!
Romeo Hunte’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection is a tribute to the fashion trends of the mid-1900s, but with a streetstyle twist. It featured mink, denim, shearling, lambskin, and satin. The collection is innovative, glamorous, and show-stopping. I’m obsessed with the following looks: a two-toned denim jacket with a lambskin collar, a charcoal grey and khaki denim trench coat, a gray/white snakeskin leather and khaki trench coat poncho, a purple lambskin two pocket coat, and a purple multi graffiti robe. All of the looks are trendsetting and captivating!
Paola Hernandez presented her Fall/Winter 2019 collection called A Constellation of Time in an original way. She had dancers perform beautiful choreography while wearing her pieces. Paola’s collection is all about minimalism, casual comfort, and artistic expression. My top looks included a navy intarsia sweater, a grey/white poncho paired with a white oversized shirt, and a grey long knitted dress. What a contemporary and effortlessly chic collection!
Chloe Gosselin showcased her Fall/Winter 2019 shoe collection, which featured chic evening heels as well as stylish everyday sandals and boots. My favorite styles included a gold and emerald green satin heel, a red suede heeled mule with a tortoise clip, a black leather lace up bootie, and a pink patent leather heel with chain detailing. Such a classy and original collection!
