BELLA: Creative and trendy kitchen products for every lifestyle

A few weeks ago, I attended the Fall 2015 press preview for BELLA, a stylish brand that produces small kitchenware appliances. There is a great range of products that includes the Rocket Extract Pro Plus, the Rotating Belgian Waffle Maker, the Triple Brew Coffee Maker, and the 3 x 2.5 QT Triple Slow Cooker, among many others. Chef Jason Roberts performed demos with some of the BELLA products, using them to create a couple of the recipes in his latest book Good Food Fast. He prepared tasty dishes such as  Waffles with Fresh Fruit and COYO Coconut Yoghurt, Ratatouille with Rice, Smoked Salmon Pancakes, and Bruschetta. I was fascinated by how easy he made it look to use BELLA’s products such as the 6Q Pressure Cooker, the 10.5 x 20’’ Griddle, and 12 x 12’’ Skillet. I love how the products are super stylish, user-friendly, and compact. They are great for multipurpose cooking and truly cater to your daily lifestyle. Check out my photos below to get a closer look at the dishes Chef Jason Roberts prepared and at the incredibly beautiful and functional BELLA products!

Electric California: Impeccable design and showstopping style

I was recently invited to a press preview for Electric California, an eyewear and accessories brand designed for the active lifestyle, where the brand showcased its 2016 sunglasses collection. The collection features a variety of high quality, stand-out Italian-made styles for men and women. The brand also has an exclusive collaboration with 11-time World Champion of surfing Kelly Slater that features a series of one-of-a-kind styles. One of my favorites from the 2016 sunglasses collection is the AV1 XL in Rose Gold. It’s the perfect unisex aviator to wear all year long! The frames are truly exceptional and the glasses really have a great fit. They also come in Black and Gold. My other favorite is the 40FIVE in Gloss Tort. These unisex glasses are inspired by styles from the 60s, but with a modern twist. They’re lightweight and come in a variety of other colors such as Black, Nude, and Red Sea.

Electric California also showcased its 2016 watches collection.  The women’s collection is elegant and versatile with styles incorporating tones of gold, rose gold, retro tortoise and classic black. My favorite styles are the FW03 MINI SS in Rose Gold/Grey and the FW03 LEATHER in Gold Tort/Black. What an impressively stylish brand!

Evian Facial Spray: The ultimate hydrator

One of my goals this summer has been to build my endurance in my workout routine. It’s been especially challenging during interval training or on hot days, but Evian Facial Spray has been helping me with that extra push. I get motivated to finish my workout strong knowing that I’ll be using the spray when I’m done. I carry it in my gym bag and love using it post-workout, as it instantly cools my face and gives my skin plenty of moisture. I only have to spray it for a few seconds to get these incredible effects! I really enjoy how soft and light it feels on my skin.

It also removes sweat so I don’t break out. I have sensitive skin so it’s great to be able to rely on a product that doesn’t irritate my skin. With Evian Facial Spray, I instantly notice that my skin feels hydrated and rejuvenated. It’s been a lifesaver after my workouts, invigorating my skin and giving me an extra boost for the day!

Guerlain’s inventive serum for brighter eyes

Recently, I went to a press preview breakfast for Guerlain’s newest skincare product, Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum. It complements the rest of the Abeille Royale line as a revolutionary, age-defying product for treating eye issues such as dark circles, wrinkles, and fine lines. The product, which is beautifully packaged, contains a unique formula that consolidates the effective repairing power of Guerlain bee products. It also has an innovative 22k golden-tipped applicator which follows the natural movement of your finger. The serum is light and feels super smooth on the eyes. Experts from the Guerlain Institute have even created a short video which shows you the massage technique they’ve created to get the most effective results with the product.

In just one week after using Abeille Royale Gold Eyetech Eye Sculpt Serum, I noticed that my eyes looked brighter, my fine lines were less pronounced, and my dark circles had faded a bit. After 4 weeks of use, your eye contour should be completely repaired and you’ll notice that your dark circles will have been reduced dramatically, resulting in brighter eyes.

I can’t wait until I reach the 4 week mark! The product definitely works. Currently, you can find it exclusively at Guerlain Boutiques and Bloomingdale’s. It will roll out to other retailers starting in September.

SelfieOnAStick.com celebrates the success of its selfie sticks

Recently, I was invited to the 1 year anniversary party for SelfieOnAStick.com, the leading provider of branded selfie sticks, at Hecho en Dumbo. The brand was co-founded by Dominic Suszanski and Jacqueline Verdier in July 2014, and has grown immensely in the course of its first year. That same night, SelfieOnAStick.com was also celebrating the recent opening of its first store location and photo booth in Times Sqaure. Guests enjoyed margaritas, trying out the Selfie On A Stick Wired, which is perfect for your #selfies or #selfwes, and had a blast capturing memorable moments. I love that any of the brand’s selfie sticks can be customized to fit your business or personal preferences. The selfie sticks come in 3 different styles: Classic, Wired, Bluetooth- each one being available in 5 different colors and compatible with most handheld devices.

Selfie sticks are perfect as party favors, as holiday gifts, and for summer outings, among other great uses. They range from $19.99 to $29.99. They’re so much fun and really easy to use, giving you the best photos. I had such an incredible time learning more about SelfieOnAStick.com!

Super Saturday 2015: An entertaining and meaningful fundraiser

This past weekend, I was invited to attend the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s annual Super Saturday event held at Nova’s Ark Project in the Hamptons. Super Saturday is a great fundraiser filled with fun components that include a designer garage sale, a luxury raffle, a kids’ carnival along with other kids’ activities, a cocktail station, culinary tastings, and more. QVC was the presenting sponsor of the event and it was hosted by Donna Karan and Kelly Ripa. A number of additional celebrities attended including Mark Feuerstein, Rachel Zoe, Gayle King, Joy Behar, June Ambrose, Dennis Basso, Alec & Hilaria Baldwin, Molly Sims, Kelly Rutherford, Brooke Shields, Ali Wentworth, and Joe Zee.

The designer garage sale featured discounted merchandise from over 150 amazing brands such as Ralph Lauren, Armani Exchange, Vince, Milly, Donna Karan, Theory, Alexis Bittar, Elie Tahari, and Club Monaco. While guests shopped, they were also able to enjoy treats and activities that included Fiji Water,  Mumm Napa champagne, Antico Noè panini samples, Priv’s braiding bar, trèStiQue’s 5-minute touchups station, flower crown making with B Floral, and more. I loved how there were so many exciting experiences to enjoy!

During the event, QVC broadcasted “QVC Presents Super Saturday LIVE,” a 2 hour segment where people nationwide could purchase apparel, beauty products, jewelry, accessories and home items for half the suggested retail price, with net proceeds going towards OCRF. Later on, the luxury raffle, which featured items from Rebecca Taylor, Flywheel Sports, and David Webb, among others, took place on-site as well.

All in all, Super Saturday raised over $3.4 million for ovarian cancer initiatives. What an incredible accomplishment!

Ladies Who Laugh: A memorable night of comedy and networking

Last week, I was invited to attend an annual fundraising event hosted by New York Women In Communications Foundation (NYWICI) called Ladies Who Laugh. It took place at Caroline’s on Broadway, and featured a great lineup of comediennes: Robyn Schall, who was the event’s MC, Rachel Dry, Aparna Nancherla, Phoebe Robinson, and Brooke Van Poppelan. The organization’s members- which work in all areas of communications such as public relations, marketing, advertising, digital media, and publishing- enjoyed a lively networking reception prior to the comedic performances. It was great to mingle with such an engaging, inspiring group of women. I also enjoyed how the comediennes entertained us with a wide range of topics from career choices, relationships, personal stories, to city life. The event concluded with a great raffle. Proceeds from the event went towards NYWICI Foundation Scholarships, and over $12,000 was raised that evening. I was truly honored to be a part of such a fun and meaningful event! If you’re interested in more information about NYWICI or want to become a member, check out www.nywici.org.

Sailing with Classic Harbor Line: A unique and adventurous NYC experience

Recently, I was invited to take a sailing cruise along the New York Harbor, courtesy of Classic Harbor Line. I ventured on the brand’s Sunset Sail aboard The Schooner America 2.0, which is a gorgeous 105-foot, 1800s-style vessel. It’s a 2 hour adventure that leaves from Chelsea Piers with spectacular views of New York’s sunset and areas such as Downtown Manhattan, One World Trade Center, Governor’s Island, and the Statue of Liberty. Members of the staff on the sailing cruise are full of energy and quite knowledgeable about Manhattan’s history. It was incredible to watch them lift up the sails once we were on course, as it looked like an intense endeavor! They also acted as bartenders throughout the sailing cruise serving wine, champagne, beer, and soda.

During the journey, we started to feel some rain coming down, but it wasn’t a problem because the staff came fully prepared with ponchos for all of the guests on board. The light rain just added to the adventure and made it more memorable. I definitely had a great time and would go on the sailing cruise again!

Copper Hewitt x Warby Parker: An exemplary partnership

I was recently invited to a party at the Copper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum to celebrate the Warby Parker x Copper Hewitt partnership. The party marked my first time visiting this museum, which is incredibly beautiful, and I can wholeheartedly say that I understand why the collaboration is perfect. Copper Hewitt, which was Andrew Carnegie’s mansion, embraces historical and contemporary design. Warby Parker, known for its unique eyewear, has a similar appreciation for learning and developing innovative, functional designs. The partnership started off with a month-long class that the two brands co-designed for high school students at the museum’s Cooper Hewitt Design Center in Harlem. The class strives to deal with community issues using design-based solutions.

The partnership then continued its path of design with the two brands co-creating a pair of glasses. Fittingly, the glasses are called Copper, and the round shaped frames are reminiscent of the ones that Andrew Carnegie wore, yet they have some modern, innovative details. They’re available for both men and women in a hue called Heritage Bronze, a color that was inspired by Andrew Carnegie’s drawing room. The glasses definitely showcase an appreciation for intriguing history and contemporary design.

In the spirit of this appreciation, I was fascinated by the museum’s combination of historical artifacts and modern designs. There are plenty of rooms where you can get informed about buildings, designs, techniques, and the like that were from earlier times, but there are a number of contemporary designs as well, such as digitally lit posters. There are also a number of interactive features where you can design things such as a hat, a table, or a chair using a digital pen. You can even save those designs if you want to view them at a later time. The museum is truly exceptional as is Warby Parker. What a fitting collaboration!
