Hudson Yards: A remarkable new retail and culinary hub

A couple of weeks ago, The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards had its grand opening party to celebrate its innovative space. Neiman Marcus, one of the largest stores in the venue with 3 floors, had a special VIP hour. Guests got an early peek at the beautiful store setup. The store has a spacious beauty department, shoe salon, gourmet food section, and apparel departments. In the latter area, Charli XX and Liza Minelli were the evening’s surprise performers. Guests enjoyed the performances and both danced and sang along to the artist’s popular tunes. Neiman Marcus is truly an impressive luxury retailer at Hudson Yards.

The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards is also the new home to 130 retail, food, and art destinations on 8 floors. They include Dylan’s Candy Bar, Sephora, Molton Brown, UNIQLO, Queensyard, Shake Shack, Avant Gallery, and more. A Residential Gallery is located on Level 1, and guests can request tours there of 15 Hudson Yards and 35 Hudson Yards, both high-end luxury residential buildings. Also, currently 4 of the floors house HY x OFFTHEWALL, large-scale interactive displays and murals from 13 artists. My favorite installation is called I WAS HERE, and it features interactive sequin tapestry that viewers can play with and admire.

The grand opening evening for the venue was very entertaining. It included store activations such as live painting, monogramming, and photo ops. The event also featured dancing troupes such as Industrial Rhythm, a drumline band called Brooklyn United, and other special performances throughout the shopping destination. DJ Paul Sevigny also played a variety of hits all night long. I’m amazed by how much there is to see and do at Hudson Yards. I haven’t climbed The Vessel yet, though I definitely want to. I hear that it is an incredible experience climbing 154 interconnected flights of stairs and taking in the view. Definitely check out this unparalleled collection of experiences!
