Woosh Beauty by ProGirl: A fun and effortless beauty line

HSN recently invited me to the launch event for Woosh Beauty by ProGirl, the first beauty solutions line developed by national beauty expert Bobbie Thomas and her best friend and co-founder Andrea DeVos Abraham. The line includes The Fold Out Face, a portable makeup palette complete with eyeshadows, concealers, contouring powders, blushes, blending powders, and a finishing shimmer. Woosh Beauty also carries a Flex and Curl Mascara and a Lash Shield, the Essential Brush Set that was designed to work with The Fold Out Face, Spin On Lip Gloss, the MMS (Mobile Makeup System) Mirror, and the MMS Bag.

I had the opportunity to view and test out the line, and was amazed with how quickly and easily you can do your makeup with it! The Fold Out Face comes with step-by-step instructions as well as suggestions on different looks. Contouring is super easy with this palette and the Essential Brush Set provides brushes with the perfect angles for makeup application. As for the Flex and Curl Mascara, my favorite aspect is that it can bend for better access to your lashes, and I love how the Lash Shield comes with a built-in brush for separating my lashes and keeps mascara from smudging. The Spin On Lip Gloss comes in a variety of vibrant colors and it really delivers the perfect amount of smoothness and color. Lastly, I love how the MMS Mirror provides great lighting for applying makeup and you can carry it in the MMS Bag, which is the perfect, portable makeup case.

Woosh Beauty is really functional and enjoyable to play with. You can do your makeup routine with it all in a matter of minutes! It launches on HSN during The Beauty Report on October 29 at 7pm. Definitely check it out!

Zicam Total Immune: An easy and effective way to support immune health

Zicam, known for its recognizable line of cold and allergy products, recently invited me to a launch event at Gravity Fitness for its new Zicam Total Immune, a dietary supplement and immune support product. The event was also a partnership with celebrity trainer and fitness expert Tracy Anderson who led a personalized workout for media at the event to celebrate the product launch. At the beginning of the workout, we all tried the Zicam Total Immune + Performance Support Orange Burst Melts to get an extra boost of energy, stamina, and endurance. This product can also be used post-activity. The workout was intense, but I also found it to be invigorating with upbeat music in the background!

After the workout, we enjoyed hydrating and unwinding with the Zicam Total Immune product line. The second product in the line is Zicam Total Immune + Digestive Health Berry Crystals, which supports digestive health and strengthens the body’s natural defense system. Both products taste great and act quickly to deliver the important health benefits. We also engaged with Tracy who mentioned to me that she partnered with Zicam because it’s a product she believes in and she loves how you can reap the products’ benefits on-the-go. This launch comes at a great time as October is National Immunity Month. I truly believe that immune health is so important, and it’s great to see a brand that understands that and offers quick, easy, beneficial solutions!

Superfeet’s new fashion insoles: Comfort for your lifestyle

Recently, Superfeet, an international leader in comfortable, supportive insoles in the podiatry, athletic, and outdoor arenas, invited me to a launch party at Haven’s Kitchen for its new collections of fashion/lifestyle focused insoles for men and women: GO and me. The GO insole alleviates the pain from tight-fitting shoes and provides your feet with comfort. The me insole also provides comfort but delivers instant support for your favorite shoes with no break-in period needed. I got to try out the insoles at the event, and was so impressed with how comfortable they really are! I love the insoles’ vibrant colors that add extra excitement to your step! They’re available in ¾ and full length sizes for high heels and flat shoes.

In addition to checking out Superfeet’s new collections, I got to learn how to make tacos and crafty cocktails. These activities tied in well with the brand’s tagline “Step out of the ordinary, step into Superfeet.” The brand believes in the ideas of challenging yourself and doing something unexpected to take your adventure to the next level. What an inspirational message and an impressive line of insoles!

Chelsea Eats: A unique and vibrant gastronomic experience

I was recently invited to attend Chelsea Eats, a high-end culinary experience organized by Pop Up New York. Eighth Avenue in Chelsea was taken over by local artisanal food, merchants, visual artists, and live entertainment. I was really impressed with the setup and variety of vendors: everything from BBQ to macarons to pizza!  It included German Bratwurst, Porchetta Sandwiches, MitchMallows, Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen Beer Garden, U Go Smoothie, FARMPOP, and Kimchi Taco Truck, among many others. The Joyce Theater kept the event vibrant as well with live performances.

I definitely enjoyed my time at Chelsea Eats checking out all of the vendors, but I did have my favorites! I loved the Mac & Cheese from Virgil’s BBQ. It had the perfect amount of cheese and hearty flavor. I also enjoyed Poutine from Rosie’s Poutine Kitchen. The dish had real cheese curds, giving the fries an amazing textured taste. Vintage Subway T-Shirts and Art had some of the coolest vintage post cards I’ve ever seen. Looking forward to next year’s Chelsea Eats!

Madura’s flagship store: An interior design oasis

Recently, I was invited to the opening party for Madura’s flagship store in the Flatiron District. Madura, a French interior design brand, celebrated the arrival of its new three-story venue that carries pillows, curtains, rugs, and other home furnishings. There’s even an impressive 20-foot wall of pillows in the back of the store. Man-Laï Event Planning & Creative Marketing organized the event, which was a fabulous gathering of the design community, influencers, as well as the brand’s family and friends. Guests were treated to cocktails provided by the event’s sponsors Perrier, Nicolas Feuillatte, and OCEAN Organic Vodka and musical entertainment by DJ Huggy Bear. They also had the amazing opportunity to get Madura tote bags that were graffiti painted on by AVONE. I asked AVONE to paint my name on my tote bag, and love the way it came out!

Madura’s flagship store is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a great addition to the flourishing design district. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to check it out and hope you get to visit it as well!

Kristin Cavallari’s Fall 2015 shoe collection: A mix of bold and trendy styles

Kristin Cavallari hosted a special presentation for her Kristin Cavallari by Chinese Laundry Fall 2015 shoe collection at Row NYC as part of KIA STYLE360 NYFW. Audrina Patridge and Gretchen Rossi came to support her at the event. Her collection is edgy, sexy, trendy, and dramatically feminine. Nude, black, and grey, are the dominant colors in the line. Fringes, embellishments, and vibrant patterns also play strong roles in the collection. I like how the shoes are statement pieces that can add an extra pop to your outfit. My favorite styles included a black suede fringe bootie, a grey suede peep toe sandal, a gold metallic loafer, a black peep toe dress pump with gold embellishments, and an angled black suede pump.

I had the opportunity to speak with Kristin Cavallari about her collection. Take a look at our chat down below:

Can you tell me a bit about the inspiration for the collection?

Every collection I do is trendy. So I’m always looking to the trend forecast to see what the color is going to be, and looking at the runways and the fashion magazines because my customer is the girl who wants to be on trend and look great, without breaking the bank. They love the Luis Vuittons, but they can’t spend $1000 on a pair of shoes.

What was your favorite part about creating the collection? I’m sure you have a set process.

So how it goes down is I send the design team my inspiration: exactly what I want to do and what I’m thinking. My favorite part is getting back the computer-generated sketches. It always feels like Christmas Day when I’m opening it up! I’m always so excited. From there, I tweak things, tell them what I like and what I don’t like, and then we have samples made. It’s awesome to see the samples come to life and to actually hold it in your hand. Then, I tweak it some more, looking at swatches and picking the fabrics and colors. It’s a really fun process.

Such a pleasure speaking with Kristin and her collection is impressively alluring!

ART FOR LOVE: Moncler and AmfAR fashionably unite for a worthy cause

During NYFW, Moncler along with AmfAR invited me to me a cocktail party for the exhibition called ART FOR LOVE at the New York Public Library. Notable guests at the event included Philip Bloch, Kipton Kronkite, Atlanta de Cadenet, Anna Dello Russo, DJ Cassidy, Anna Cleveland, Fern Mallis, Marloes Horst, and Alex Pettyfer. The exhibition, which was curated by Fabien Baron, brought together 32 of the greatest photographers in the world with Moncler to raise crucial funds for AmfAR. Each photographer was tasked with styling and showcasing their vision of the iconic Moncler Maya jacket. I enjoyed how all of the photographers captured each of their subjects with the jacket in a very playful, unique way.

My favorite photographs included a cat inside the hood of a green Maya jacket, a female model wearing a Maya jacket over athletic lingerie, a ballerina wearing a blue Maya jacket, a male model walking on a wall wearing a black Maya jacket, and a horseback rider falling off a horse while wearing the iconic jacket. These photographs are available for bidding until September 29 at http://paddle8.com/auction/amfar. Be sure to check them out!

AXE White Label Collective & Esquire celebrate signature style

I was recently invited to the AXE White Label Collective & Esquire event at Pop14. Mia Moretti spun the beats at the event. John Legend along with Billy Reid and Nick Sullivan were the event’s hosts. They all mentioned how grateful they were to be partnering with a brand that gives up and coming menswear designers an amazing opportunity to launch their brands. AXE itself knows about innovation and standing out in the crowd as it creates fresh, great smelling products. The AXE White Label Collective is a mentorship program that gives aspiring designers the resources they need to take the next step in their careers. The five brands that were chosen for this year’s AXE White Label Collective are: Oberima Afriyie, Whipping Post, Atelier Savas, 1K, and EYSOM.

All of the brands are unique, embracing their craft and showcasing intriguing clothing and accessories. I love their attention to detail and how they use high-quality, luxurious materials. Oberima Afriyie designs menswear, Whipping Post designs bags and accessories, Atelier Savas designs bespoke leather jackets, 1K designs a hat line, and EYSOM designs active wear. Each designer behind these brands has such passion, positivity, and a forward-looking vision. I am certainly impressed and hope that they continue on with their paths to success!

Monarch Rooftop: A scenic oasis in the city’s center

I had the recent opportunity to check out Monarch Rooftop in Midtown Manhattan, and I must say it’s the perfect place to go to for happy hour and to catch the sunset against the city skyline! With views of Midtown, the Empire State building, Downtown Manhattan, and the Hudson River, the swanky hotspot has an impressive location. It’s a spacious indoor and outdoor venue that’s filled with comfy banquettes, lots of plush chairs, and two bars. I really liked the appetizers and small plates menu, and recommend the Watermelon Bites, the Grilled Chicken Skewers, the Yucca Frites, and the Monarch Flatbread. The cocktail menu was quite expansive, and my favorites included the Rose Sangria, the Violet Crush, the Pimm’s Royale and the Rose 75. Both menus change seasonally to match the weather perfectly. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and delicious. If you haven’t already, be sure to stop by for drinks and appetizers at this hotspot!
