On September 26, Dîner en Blanc lit up the town for its 13th year with another successful celebration. Union Square was this year’s location and it was such a perfect choice with the park as a natural backdrop! Rows and rows of tables were elaborately decorated in white and thousands and thousands of guests were decked out in their finest white attire. The event’s theme was a masquerade ball and I saw some of the most glamourous masks I’ve ever seen with intricate detailing. Guests brought beautiful and innovative table accessories such as canopied lights, vases with white feathers, and hanging white rose lanterns. There were plenty of photo opportunities at Dîner en Blanc to capture such as people on stilts, people wearing lit-up winged capes, and people wearing the most exquisite hats. A 360 degree photo booth and white carriage were also on site to encapsulate some incredible moments.
Shortly after 7PM, guests waved their napkins to mark the official start of the evening. The Napkin Wave is one of my favorite things to see as it’s quite a beautiful synchronization! Guests then enjoyed gourmet picnic-style meals that they either prepared beforehand or purchased at Dîner en Blanc, wine, champagne, and lively conversation. Following dinner, the party continued with entertainment by DJ Samantha Michelle. She played a great mix of hip hop, pop, dance, and more. Everyone was dancing and singing along in the heart of Union Square, holding on to the night as long as they could. What a spectacular evening of dining, fashion, music, and friendship!
