Empowering style at NYFW FW 2020 that stunned

At this season’s NYFW, empowering style made a defining statement on the runway and at presentations. I had the pleasure of attending a couple of these presentations and shows. Check out my highlights below!

L’Agence

First up, L’Agence showed off its Fall 2020 collection at the Bowery Hotel. It featured chic looks that mixed Parisian aesthetic with a West Coast vibe. Denim continues to be the main focus for the brand, but the collection also showcased tailoring and suits. Tweed, silk, and leather carried through the collection. My favorite looks included a silver sequin blazer paired with a black silk blouse and black pants, a grey tweed ankle-length coat paired with black leather gloves and a black hat, and a mustard silk suit. All of the looks were very mod and embraced empowering style and femininity. Such a stunning collection!

Fashion Hong Kong

Additionally, Fashion Hong Kong, took place at Spring Studios. The event is organized by HKTC to elevate Hong Kong designers on the global front. It featured three designers that expressed innovative vision. The first one was Heaven Please+, a brand inspired by the Princess of Wales and traditional British royal costumes. It showcased classic styles with edgy accents. Next, SUN=SEN, known for its optimistic personality, featured colorful, detailed styles. Each look combined a mixture of patterns and fabrics that expressed an individualistic appeal. Lastly, Harrison Wong featured structured lines and color blocking for abstract contrasting. Blue, green, and black color blocking and dramatic style accents played large roles in the collection. What an inspiring designer collective!

Cynthia Rowley

Later on in the week, Cynthia Rowley presented her FW 20 collection on the runway at Spring Studios. The collection was colorful, full of invigorating spirit, and empowering style. It was filled with floral prints, puffy sleeves, and fur jackets. Some of my favorite looks included a white dress with a unique pink pattern, a  gold floral silk top with puffy sleeves paired with matching pants, and a black floral trench coat. What an exciting collection!
